Order of Daughters of Sphinx in the United States of

America since the degrees were conferred upon the author,

which was on June 1, 1893, and the power and authority

which was then granted to institute Courts of

Daughters of Sphinx and propagate the Secret Work of

this Fraternity in this country,and was to be the means

whereby well-deserving ladies and members of the Masonic

Fraternity could have the opportunity of uniting

themselves with an Ancient Secret, Benevolent institution

that is National and International in its scope and

character.The Fraternity of Daughters of Sphinx is not

in opposition or is it antagonizing any other association

or society, for it has a special exalted mission and work

of its own to follow and to fulfill.It is a Secret and independent

organization;  the modes of recognition which

are secret and peculiar are only known to those who are

members of the Order of Daughters of Sphinx.

There are three degrees in the Order of Daughters of

Sphinx, the first degree is the Fraternal Degree, the

second degree is the Queen Esther Degree and the third

degree is the Sphinx Degree.

The government, control and authority of the Order

of Daughters of Sphinx over North and South America

and throughout its entire jurisdiction is vested in the

Supreme Grand Court of Daughters of Sphinx, and all of

the Subordinate Courts of Daughters of Sphinx hold

their Charter of Authority from this Supreme Grand Body.

and the weighty responsibility that a laudable

secret work of a Fratgrnity like this incurs, for the

establishment of Courts and the propagation of this

purpose,and that is to do, whatever good and benefit

that he can for the whole human family.
